Class D Heavy Truck Pathway
Class D covers trucks over 11,000 kg gross/registered gross weight and certain combinations where the towed vehicle does not exceed 4,600 kg.

Eligibility & licensing
Typical pathway
- Be at least 18
- Hold an eligible Ontario licence
- Meet medical and vision standards
- Pass the large-truck knowledge test
- Pass a Class D road test in an appropriate vehicle
Important: If a trailer exceeds 4,600 kg, a full or restricted Class A may be required instead.
