Z is an endorsement added to an eligible licence class for operating vehicles equipped with qualifying air-brake systems.

Eligibility & licensing
Typical pathway
- Hold an eligible Ontario driver’s licence
- Complete the required air-brake learning/testing process
- Demonstrate required practical knowledge where applicable
- Maintain the endorsement at renewal
Important: The underlying vehicle still determines the base licence class. Z does not replace Class A, B, C, D, E or F.
